A day in the life of Kenji our Japanese Intern!

【Hi, I’m Kenji! Nice to meet you!!】

Hi! I’m Kenji!

I’m working at Intraix as an intern now. Half of my internship period has since passed. How time flies!

Please allow me to introduce myself and my experience in Intraix briefly.

I’m a master’s course student of Tokyo Institute of Technology in Japan and majoring in Management of Technology (MOT). My course looks at the cooperation between industrial‐academic‐government cooperation, Intellectual property strategy and Innovation management.

Through studying about innovation and its social significance, I wanted to participate in an internship at a startup and I came to Singapore utilizing the SSHP(Singapore Startup Hack Program) in Japan. In Japan, the HEMS and IoT is a hot topic now which I am very interested in. Hence, I selected Intraix whose business domain is HEMS and IoT.

We began our internship with a presentation where I took on the imaginary role as Intraix CEO, investigated trends of smart grid and HEMS in Japan and proposed recommendations for Intraix’s  business strategy. At present I am tasked with various work such as sales, development of new products,  and I even participated in the recent NUS career fair to help recruit potential employees for Intraix.

Intraix is a start-up which has very pleasant colleagues. The office is a comfortable environment full of laughter. Everyday, I have lunch with my colleagues and we have a good time!!

From my perspective, Intraix has good business potential as it deals with both HEMS and IoT which is currently the hottest theme and has seen huge market growth.

It is an eye-opening experience for me to learn about start-up business. We are based at Block79 which is conveniently located next to the National University of Singapore and there are many start-up companies in this area.

There is a good infrastructure supporting the start-up scene in Singapore. There are many students, investors and entrepreneurs from various countries and we can network with them.

Through this internship, we have been exposed to many things and have learnt a lot.

In the future, I hope to also be an innovator who will bring great social impact to the world.

In the short time that is left of my internship, I hope to do my best and learn more from my colleagues!

Thank you for reading!
